This is very sane! The rationalists have this idea of getting system one and system two to agree on common goals, and several useful tips for getting this to happen. You might like the CFAR handbook https://www.rationality.org/resources/handbook
Yeah I've read a bunch of stuff adjacent to it! I also have a lot of background psych knowledge due to my partner being a psychologist and my own general reading. Syncing system one and two in a way is a very old concept.
I have ADHD, so if I'm honest with myself, this is probably a very ADHD friendly way of going about things. I also think the rationalists are probably more likely to be neurodiverse. Also in my research and my experience, I've noticed that neurodiverse people also tend to have a lot more metabolic issues.
I reckon all bad, modern things have polyunsaturated fats at the root. I could probably be convinced that Taylor Swift is caused by polyunsaturated fats.
I've got buckets, and it's really useful. The point is not to waste it on silly things where it will fail, like trying to starve yourself, or breathe less, and to save it for things where it will actually help, like eating double cream for a week to see what happens, or switching to nicotine pills instead of cigarettes.
